Position Details:

• Teaching Position: TEACHER OF BIOLOGY

Job Duty Overview:

• Being actively involved in reviewing curriculum needs andin consultation with the Head of Science to select courses that are appropriate to the needs of our students
• Attending regular subject meetings of Biology/MS Science Project staff at which curriculum planning,student progress, and teaching and learning needs are discussed and good practice can be shared
• Managing Biology resources effectively
• Evaluating and marking students’ work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of students’ progress and development
• Participating in regular departmental meetings, INSET, school training events, observation and professional review in order to maximize the quality of teaching
• Fostering a stimulating learning environment based on understanding and respect
• Supporting the schools’ Marketing and Admissions teams as required, by for example writing and marking occasional entrance tests, attending student recruitment events and contributing comments or short articles for the school’s WeChat account as requested from time to time

Requirements:

• Native level of English
• A high quality degree with Biology as the sole or major focus
• A formal teaching qualification
• Minimum two years’ Biology teaching experience and the capability of teaching Biology to all age groups 11-18
• Ability to communicate in English with pupils, colleagues and parents, with support for interpretation into Chinese where necessary, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community
• Experience of A-Level or IGCSE students will be beneficial
