ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School is the first K-12 (kindergarten, primary school, junior middle school and senior high school) bilingual school in Jiading District, the first International Diploma organization project school in Jiading District. ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School with the highest number and proportion of foreign teachers in Jiading District, innovated the consistent bilingual education curriculum system of K-12. ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School created the connecting courses of kindergarten, junior middle school and junior high school. ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School focused on the construction of K-12 Chinese culture reading course and more than 170 elective courses. Each student at ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School chooses a musical instrument to form the educational characteristics of light burden and high quality. Adhering to ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School running philosophy of "rooted in Chinese traditional culture, successful learners and excellent world citizens" and the school motto of "learning for daily progress", the school aims to improve the comprehensive quality of students with international competitiveness as the direction of school characteristic construction and comprehensively promote all-round education. All teachers of ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School are graduated from well-known colleges and universities at home and abroad, with master's degree or above as the main body. With the approval of the Foreign Experts Bureau, ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School has the qualification to directly recruit foreign experts from abroad. The proportion of Chinese and foreign teachers in senior high schools is about 3:2. At present, 20% of teachers in s ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School are examiners certified by IBDP project, and all teachers participate in professional course training organized by IB. The teacher-student ratio is about 1:5 in ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School, and small classes and fine teaching are adopted, with no more than 25 people in each class. In addition to Chinese, other courses are taught in bilingual or English according to the learning needs of different grades. In 2018, ECNU Affiliated Bilingual School rewarded the "Innovation Award for comprehensive education reform" in Jiading District.
